Biographical/Historical Note

Otis Ashmore (1853-1934) was born in Lincoln County, Georgia, on March 6. He was an educator and scientist and Superintendent of Schools of Chatham County, Georgia, from 1896 until 1916, Ashmore also made the astronomical calculations for Grier's Almanac, 1882-1932. He died in Savannah, Georgia on May 2, 1934.

Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of correspondence, promissory notes, both collected and uncollected, as well as genealogical notes, charts, and clippings on the Ashmore, Samuel, and Wright families.
